Alice, Honey and Hope – the three beloved pygmy goats of Lanjeth Nursery and Water Gardens are stars of this commissioned pastel portrait.
I was asked to draw these gorgeous little goats for a surprise birthday present. Mark Woolcock, Managing Director of Lanjeth Gardens, has had goats for 17 years and they of course are a huge part of his world. Our animals become our family, and these gorgeous girls have been hand-reared so are very bonded with their people. So what could be better as a gift than a portrait of dear Alice and her daughters Honey and Hope.
As it was a gift I also had the artwork professionally framed for the client, so when it came time to present the artwork it was ready to hang on the wall.
